The Elms Farm has evolved since 1907 when it was a mixed arable and livestock farm. Over the years, emphasis moved to pigs and poultry and at one point Tockington Poultry Centre had tens of thousands of birds at the Elms Farm.
The Farm land currently has a number of tenants, using the land for crazing of beef cattle, grazing of sheep, horses and the cultivation of grass turf. Small holding activities are promoted including the rearing or rare bread sheep and point of lay chickens.
The Farm yard, like many other in the area, is now used for a mixture of storage, small business and agriculture as well as a local forest school, woodland management and timber.
