Old Down woods is 24 acres of woodland between Tockington Manor and Old Down Cricket Club. Since the mid 1990s this woodland has been actively managed to remove decaying, dangerous and non-indigenous trees to make way for new planting. This is slowly regenerating this woodland area which is accessible through the network of permissive paths. Timber from the woodland is sold locally and helps fund the maintenance of paths, fences and gates.
